Monarch Larva Sighted
Sightings report image

Date: 09/18/2021

Number: 19

Today I counted 15 large caterpillars on the swamp milkweed (Asclepias incarnata) that I planted 18 months ago in my raingarden. I found another 4 dispersing across the tall grass there. Those remaining on the milkweed are all large and will likely finish eating and disperse to pupate in the next 48 hrs. Luckily, there is sufficient vegetation left on the milkweeds to sustain them until then.
