After several days without a single sighting this afternoon 20 or more monarchs showed up in our yard! They are busy fueling up for their flight. None have tags.

[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/21/21]:

All the monarchs were witnessed together flying and nectaring on or around my Joe pye weed plant. They arrived around 2:30-3 and stayed about an hour. It was sunny and clear and they seemed frantic to eat and then get moving. I have been seeing larger groups like this every few days in my yard.
