Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/19/2021

Number: 25

Looking up from the water (we were swimming at Weko Beach in Bridgman, MI) a man noticed a few monarchs ~30 feet above us—(a guess), and we kept watching and we’d see another and then another few, not in big groups—more singles or few together—they were all going in a southerly direction. This was ~5:15pm local time. Maybe a total of 25-30 in total?

I’ve visited beaches for years in this area and never experienced this. Was very cool to find this is along their migration path to Mexico!

Presuming this was part of their peak migration?
