Counted approx 22 monarchs at my monarch waystation butterfly bushes around noon and also approx same number at 4:45 and still at dusk, nectaring heavily. As it got darker, I didn't see them fly away but they seemed to vanish. I checked my trees, but could only see one on a dead limb of a nearby maple. Could others have gone deeper into the bushes or nearby hedge?
