I saw a lot hard to count.
[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/22/21]:
I was out for a walk and noticed lots of monarchs all along the westside of Manhattan along the Hudson river yesterday morning. I look for them every year. It was sunny and breezy. They were nectaring. I checked all the areas where they plant things for the butterflies. Well at this one patch of annual salvia there were loads. I saw many all morning this patch just seemed to be the busiest at the moment. It was an estimate.
