Today was the day! It's been a busy season for us with Monarch larvae forming 16 or more chrysalides. Last night two of them started looking like they were about ready, and this morning 2 more looked that way. So, late this morning, Monarchs started emerging from their chrysalides. We knew about 4 of them, but 4 additional ones were hidden, and we didn't see them until the new Monarchs started finding their way to somewhere they could dry their wings. That gave us a total of 8 NEW MONARCHS to welcome into the world! That's the most we've ever had at one time, and there are still another 10 chrysalides that we know about.
