Number: 10

We saw at least ten Monarchs coming down at sunset and landing in several trees in our front yard.

[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 09/22/21]:

We have lived here since 2018 and have seen Monarchs every fall, usually the first week of October. I would have to guess the time, maybe 6:30 pm. I will try to pay better attention tonight if we see more!
Nectar sources: Zinnias, marigolds, Jerusalem artichokes in our flower garden, and tomato, squash, cucumber blossoms in the garden
Temp: 48-50 F
Oak trees, not sure about wind speed
We watched for about 10 minutes. The monarchs were flying around (looking for a place to land). It was difficult to tell if we were seeing more than 10 or if the same ones were flying out of the trees and moving around. So we just guess at 10.
