Monarch Waystation #271 reports the release of one male monarch that had emerged some time between 7:40 and 9 am this morning from the pupa collected from the fence next to the front yard water meter access plate on 9/22. A Monarch Watch tag was attached to his right hind wing and he was released on the south patio about 1:45 pm. He flew strongly upwards, circled, and then headed east along the side of the building and out of sight, about roof top level.
