2 ruby throated hummers are saying, "hold on, wait a minute, we're not done with east-central Minnesota yet!"
The hummers huddled up against a cool rain today. But I got to watch one of them sip rainwater from plant leaves. I've only seen this phenomenon a few times so it is always fun to watch. I hope these 2 or others stick around long enough to get an October sighting. But they will leave on their own schedule. I know one person in southeast Minnesota who gets many hummingbirds during migration and all of the hummers have left there already.
