Sighted nectaring on Liatris (Gayfeather). I believe these are area residents congregating on a limited nectar source. Many other butterflies and other pollinators are present. Cowpen Daisy is often a larger fall nectar source in this area, but lack of rain has meant no blossoms, although the plants are still alive. Rain is predicted next week, but will it arrive in time to produce a useful nectar source for the Monarchs? TBD.
