Migration may have ended after four days of observations along the Lake Huron shoreline at Harrisville State Park. I counted 5 monarchs in directional flight about 20' above the ground on a NW Wind at 3 mph from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM, and then the Wind changed to the NNE at 8 mph. No monarchs were seen to 3 PM, so I decided to take a 1 1/2 mile walk and back to my house. I observed 1 monarch on a purple flowered butterfly bush in town at 3:20 PM. I saw no monarchs at my house from 4:30 PM to 7 PM. I phoned my friend (Larry) to see if he had any monarchs. He said there was one in his yard earlier in the day. This brings the total of 244 monarchs the last four days of this rather low peak migration wave. The weather was sunny in the AM, but mostly cloudy in the PM. The Temperature topped out at 64F.
