In my raised bed garden, monarchs were nectaring on Joe-Pye Weed (picture), Sky Blue Aster, New England Aster, and Mexican Sunflower. The late blooming Joe-Pye Weed consistently had the most activity. The picture was taken at 4:47 pm. The temperature was 88� with the wind 12 mph from the SSW with gusts to 23 mph. There were other monarchs nectaring in distant beds, but could not count them at the same time.
