There were a few hundred adult monarch butterflies flying around outside our home today!

[Additional information contributed by observer, added by Journey North, 10/01/21]:

The monarchs were all seen at the same time. I watched them for 2 days. They arrived 09/28 in the evening and were gone by the evening of 09/29. They were all flying in and around the trees in our yard. We live out in the country surrounded by corn/bean fields. It was not windy either of those days.
