On a gorgeous fall day with a moderate north west wind I spotted over 1100 monarchs during the migration from 12 noon to 6:30 pm. The food sources in the area are about 75% ripe and available. The wind out of the west was tough for the monarchs. Roosts were difficult to locate with many monarchs roosting on the goldenrod.
