My husband and I counted 111 monarchs flying onto our property from the north between 6:20 pm and 6:30 pm. The temperature was 84 with a 1 mph west wind. A few nectared, but most flew into oak, black walnut, white pine, bald cypress, or catalpa trees to rest (The picture is of dead oak tree branches.). They rested individually, not in groups. We did not count the nectaring or resting monarchs, only those flying in during the 10 minute period along a 300 ft. long section of our property.
