Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/30/2021

Number: 91

I observed monarchs gliding by around 545 pm EDT. I raced home, got a tablet and started tallying. The monarchs were flying much higher than usual, perhaps 5o feet or higher in the air. I counted from approximately 5:57-6:09 PM. The temperature was 69 degrees Fahrenheit and was dropping as the sun was setting. Winds were NNW at 4 MPH.
