Finally, after my friend (Larry) and I observed no monarchs the last three days of September, I counted one today migrating south. The last four days have been 100% sunshine with the Wind ENE-8 mph, SE-4 mph, NE-8 mph, and WSW-10 mph. The Temperatures where 58, 65, 66, and 73F. for highs. The lowest Temperature was 36F. yesterday morning, otherwise in the 40's. Larry and I looked at 20 locations the last four days. Only four locations still have white asters, white daisies, goldenrod, clover, and Queen Ann's Lace. We will concentrate only on these four locations, plus the beach on cold fronts. Total monarchs counted for September was 332 as compared to 590 last year.
