Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 10/02/2021

Number: 175

We counted 175 Monarchs flying across our yard between 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM! They came down one or two at a time and crossed the road in front of our house. It rained earlier today and there were clouds moving from the North to the Southeast for part of the afternoon. The monarchs flew to the woods across the road and seemed to all be headed towards the same group of oak trees. It was a very wooded area and out of the wind. The temperature was in the 70's F this afternoon. It was in the 60's overnight. I saw one roost in our yard in an oak tree.
