Eggs and little caterpillars found in paths subject to mowing were moved into a screened enclosure with outdoor light and temperature conditions. All did well with release dates from mid-August (8) to mid-September (17). Newborn wild butterflies also noted. Migration observed early to middle September, many strong flyers headed south over Vermont Route 30 and even over a swimmer at Lake St. Catherine (5 mile length). Weather was favorable for milkweed and nectar flowers this year. Nectaring active at Echinacea and asters.
