Adult monarch butterfly (male) emerged from chrysalis, early afternoon, Oct. 1. He stayed overnight on the South side of our house, then flew away in the morning, Oct. 2 - the 4th monarch butterfly we've seen that's matured on our milkweed, this season. :)
Weather sunny and clear, Oct. 1, high 23.8 C, low overnight 2 C; sunny, light smoke (from forest fire near Hudson Bay, SK), Oct. 2, high 20.7 C, wind S. 3 kph.
