The monarchs were observed on the trail system around the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge -La Crosse District Visitor Center. They were primarily nectaring on the large area of showy goldenrod near the south end of the trails. Some were observed nectaring on New England Aster. 4 painted ladies were also observed.
