Monarch PEAK Migration

The monarchs seem slightly late this year, but now seem to be arriving. Yesterday we had about 10 on our C.Greggii patch.
Today at 1:00 PM there are approx 40 on our C.Greggii. This is today, will report again tomorrow. Note it seems that after feeding most seem to stay and roost overnight on our Red Oak. It is exciting to watch some of them leave as the sun comes up - flying in a southerly direction.
Our neighborhood is sadly full of green lawn gardens most people don't care about the environment. The City of Richardson doesn't either - they are always out spraying for mosquitos - it's sad - but I do my best. Will report again tomorrow. i do have photo's but it's hard to capture every single butterfly in an image I use binoculars to do the counting.
