Just before dark, Emma Raasch counted 220 monarchs on the southside of the spruce in the windbreak at Madison Audubon's Goose Pond Sanctuary, W7503 Kampen Road, Arlington, WI 53911 About 8 monarch wings were found on the ground. One Eastern red bat was also found roosting in the windbreak.
NOTE: The September 10 roost count with 220 should be deleted. The correct date is September 9th.
