I posted this sighting just on the sightings map. But in looking at the map of other places with overnight roosts I can see that I’m a direct southwest line from cape May NJ, and then the next reporting sight is across Chesapeake Bay from here, also on the same SW trajectory. Until the other day it never occurred to me look up over my head for more monarchs when I see some at ground level. I believe the monarchs I saw under the leaves of trees in a grove were preparing a roost because it was late in the day.
