After observing a spot nearby, we walked to our usual area by Lake Wichita and in the black willow trees. In this area, we tagged 25 Monarchs, and missed catching about 10.

Temperature was about 79 deg. F.
no wind (but south wind earlier in day).
Again, this area is good protection from the wind.
The monarchs were roosting in small groups of around 2 or 3's. They were spread out along an area about 100 meters or so.
Will check again in the next couple of evenings.
