On my family's ~300 acre ranch in Burnet County I saw many monarchs over the weekend. I said 50 as a very conservative estimate, but likely the numbers were closer to the 200-300 range. In a couple of spots they were gathering to nectar on frostweed and overnight on live oak branches.
