The juvenile female we have now has me baffled. She is displaying some of the same behaviors as that one of my resident juvenile hummers that I was sure had left last week on 10/6. We've had several travelers since then, so I just am not sure if this one is a traveler or is that resident who just went hiding for a day or two. Anyhow, I know this one has been around since at least Saturday. She is feeding from both the feeders and flowers. I saw her many times today, morning through dusk. She is even perching in the same spot on the mock orange on our patio and is quite comfortable with me, perching while I'm on the patio with her. This is a mystery to me that I'm really trying to figure out. No sightings of any other hummers today.
