Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/11/2021

Number: 61

On a blustery beautiful autumn day with temps in the high 60's and a moderate WSW wind I spotted 61 monarchs from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The majority of the monachs were feeding on golden rod in the more protected areas of the beach away from the strong winds. There are still ample food sources in the area. Due to the wind most were flying 4-5 feet off the ground. All looked healthy despite being blown off the plants they were feeding on by the wind.
