I saw 5 monarch butterflies and set a new personal record of seeing a monarch this late in the year—October 12! Between 8 and 8:30 a.m., I saw 5 monarch butterflies come out of the Sumac tree at Sam Lawrence Park in Hamilton and rest in the morning sun on the east side of butterfly bushes. They seemed to be warming their wings in the 16°C sunshine.
