Point Pelee National Park at the Tip for an hour & a half before sunset each day. Summary of 7 evenings 10/5-10/11. Oct 11th was the last count of fall migration.
Last cluster was seen 10/01 consisting of 12 monarchs.
Over the 7 evenings only 13 monarchs were seen.
High daytime temps were a pleasant & consistent 21c+. Overnight temps consistently 15ish.
Most days were sunny. A couple days with occasional showers. Most days had southerly wind. A couple days were northerly.
Those that nectared did so on lavender coloured asters.
A few did individually settle on Hackberry trees or Virginia creeper vine.
The last 2 days had strong SE wind. The rest were light to moderate.
Beautiful days to see & photograph migrating monarchs but so few were seen.
Zero tagged monarchs were seen from Sept. 1st to Oct. 11th.
Usually I see at least 1.
Temps will drop in a few days to max 15°c days & max 10°c nights.
All observations were by eye, binoculars & camera.
