At least 24 mostly fresh adults nectaring before 10am on an east facing, large, white butterfly bush with hundreds of flowering spikes. From an overnight roost in a nearby River Birch. Several more adult Monarchs scattered about on strategically placed purple butterfly bushes on other sides of the property. Despite having Fall blooming plants such as native Goldenrod, Mist Flower, Boneset, a myriad of Aster varieties, Coneflowers, flowering sages, annual Lantana, and much more, the Fall migrants each year, for the past 25 years of tracking them, nectar primarily on Butterfly Bush.
