Monarch Fall Roost
Sightings report image

Date: 09/14/2021

Number: 1

One monarch butterfly laid some eggs on our milkweed plant around the 14th of September. Throughout the next few weeks we watched the eggs hatched and turn into caterpillars and form chrysalis. As of 10/10/21 they started to hatch out of the chrysalis and fly off to continue their journey. I counted 10 caterpillars on the milkweed, but couldn’t keep track of all of them once they moved from the host plant. We were able to observe at least four of the them after they hatched.
