I saw 4 monarch butterflies flying & nectaring on goldenrod & flowering milkweed. At 11:30am it was partly cloudy, 75 degrees F, 60% humidity, and with a gentle breeze from the north. At least 3 of the monarchs were females, as I observed them seeking milkweed and egg-laying. This is a photo of one of them as she lays an egg on a fresh Asclepias viridis milkweed.
