Monarch Adult Sighted

Date: 10/15/2021

Number: 1

Around 5:30 pm. I was standing looking out across an open field, near where I pick my milkweed, and I saw a Monarch Butterfly seeming to "pop" up & out of a wooded area and fly across the field in front of the woods. It was still about 85 degrees, which is warm for PA. The sun was shining on that field. The Monarch came from right to left and looked like it headed through an opening in the trees towards golden yellow leaves, unless it landed somewhere in the shade which I was unable to see?...
It was pleasant to see him or her in their own habitat. :)
*I hadn't let any Monarchs go here this year, but I raised many from the milkweed in the adjacent field. :)
