Greetings from Hale Elementary School!
We are a K-2 school located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our community has many butterfly gardens, and we enjoy helping protect Monarch butterflies and other pollinators. This fall our students learned about the incredible life cycle of the monarchs. They were honored to create ambassador butterflies to share with new friends in Mexico. Our school is two blocks away from Lake Nokomis, which is the home of the annual Minneapolis Monarch Festival. This festival takes place in September, and it is our community's way to say goodbye to the Monarch butterflies and wish them well as they head off to Mexico for the winter.
