Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/19/2021

Number: 8

I'm listing these monarchs as Monarch PEAK Migration because this is so far the most seen in one day for October, 2021. All were in directional flight heading south or southwest. I saw one monarch on my 2 mile walk between 1 PM and 2:30 PM. I met three children at Harrisville State Park that saw a large orange and black butterfly flying along the Cedar Run Trail. I met my friend (Larry), and he saw one at his house and one in town before noon. My other friends, Larry and his wife Sally, also saw one in their yard, and another one in town. These were in the early morning hours. Another friend (Terry) saw one at his house in Harrisville. This was in the morning. A camper at Harrisville State Park saw one at 4 PM. I saw no more monarchs at my flower gardens to 6:30 PM. The weather was 100% sunshine with the Wind SW-13 mph. The Temperature topped out at 73F.
