Monarch PEAK Migration
Sightings report image

Date: 10/21/2021

Number: 20

Today, a light breeze from the north arrived in the afternoon, so I scanned the skies above our house in north central Austin with binoculars and, sure enough, I saw one Monarch after another, flying high about 2 minutes apart in a southwest direction. I watched for about 20 minutes at about 2 pm and then for another 20 minutes at about 4 pm and saw about 10 Monarchs each time period. Monarchs have been numerous in our yard all week as well, feeding on native flowering plants.
