Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/17/2021

Number: 112

On a warm partly sunny day I spotted 112 monarchs from 2-6 pm. The NW wind was moderate at 10-15 mph. There are still plenty of nectaring plants in area and the monarchs were ravenous. The wind kept blowing the monarchs off the plants and they would fight the wind to fly back to the plants. Temps have been dropping at night and are expected to be 50 overnight.
