All flying south

I was walking to Alabama Point in Orange Beach and counted the butterflies who were flying past me. After a couple I just kept counting.
Length of observation period was about 30 minutes.
They were all flying in a basically straight line just above my head (about 5'5" high).
None of these were nectaring; however, I did see close to a dozen the following day (which I didn’t have a chance to report) nectaring as I walked to the beach. They were on ground flowers near our beach access.
It was clear, probably temp in 70s. Calm breeze
