Santiago López Echavarria reported this afternoon hundreds of monarch butterflies forming perches on the slopes of a hill in the Ejido La Carbonera, municipality of Galeana, N.L., in Pinus cembroides and even in Larrea tridentada, since this is a semi-desert area with few trees. Nectar sources are mainly wildflowers.
