one adult monarch seen only briefly flitting in and out of shadows along riparian forest at lower Water ST at gate to Kennebec Sanitary Treatment District plant. sunny and warm 60F with minimal breeze - the nicest afternoon of the week. remarkable not yet to have a killing frost so late in the season in central Maine. this is only one day earlier than our previous late season monarch sighting in Maine [23 OCT 2017 - see also : < https://journeynorth.org/sightings/query_result.html?record_id=1508784479 >
