Surprised to see 15 monarchs at Google yesterday. This older faded female was busy nectaring and laying eggs on the tropical milkweeds in the afternoon sun. She seemed unaffected by us, flying within inches of me when I was taking her picture. The rest were flying around the milkweeds and nectaring.
