Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 10/30/2021

Number: 97

I sighted 85, tagged 12, over a 5 hr. period (11:45 am-4:45 pm) The tagged specimens, 10 males and 2 females, were in near perfect condition. Weather clear, mid-70's, slight NW wind. A frontal system passed through two days ago. Monarchs were in migration, travelling WSW and stopping to nectar on blue mist flower, Conoclinium coelestinum. Sightings and tagging were done on a 100m transect. I sighted and tagged in this same location last year with similar results, almost all males in near perfect condition.
