At the Dia de los Muertos festival at the newly renovated Waterloo Park in central Austin, I saw Monarchs flying distinctly southwest above the crowd between 3 and 4 pm and then a number of them feeding on the numerous blue mistflower and fall aster plantings. I am just guessing at the number of Monarchs I saw, but it was beautiful to see them flying amongst the Dia de los Muertos displays and attire.
