On my 2 mile walk today, I observed a male monarch nectaring on a Spotted Knapweed flower at 1:10 PM. I was able to net and tag (ACWM-424) it. This was at the end of 2nd Street in a field. I released the monarch onto the flower, but it quickly flew up to about 40' and headed SSE over the treetops at Harrisville State Park. This is the 9th monarch observed in the month of November since record keeping began in 2010. The weather was Sunny with the Wind W-5-15 mph. The Temperature was 33 degrees for the low this morning, and it topped out at 49F.
