Very surprised to see a lone robin at the winter watering dish we keep under the furnace exhaust vent to keep it liquid. He/she flew directly to it, so presumably was familiar with its location from past springs. Otherwise, the several robins we saw earlier in October departed after about a week. After seeing a note on another person's sighting of robins, I realized that they were probably eating the abundant poke weed berries that are growing in a wild area that runs behind several houses on our block.
