Observed for ~25" in my frontyard; picture taken 10 am; flew from flower to flower, flying away from & back to the plants (3 desert milkweeds planted next to each other); observed it 'chasing' away a queen butterfly from the desert milkweeds (Asclepias subulata), with both flying in a circular pattern above the plant, disappearing behind a tree & then the monarch coming back by itself. Looking up the weather at the time (so did not look it at real time), it was ~ 75F, sunny, no wind, 26% humidity. https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/@5295903/historic
