Male found as egg on common milkweed. Caterpillar had an accident with the zipper on the cage and fell to the bottom, losing a lot of green fluid. It rallied, climbed back on the zipper and formed a chrysalis right over the zipper. It eclosed normally, appeared to have normal development and flew off in the direction of Mexico. What a trooper!
