Sightings report image

Date: 11/11/2021

Number: 10

We started seeing the catspilers on our milkweed and honestly thought they were just bad bugs. Did a google search after counting 10 plus on the plants.
Begin helping them move to our fuller plant. At one point we had 7 about 10 days ago so probably on November 11th or so. After a short rain storm I counted only 4. We found one monarch getting ready to fly but was a little afraid so I let her walk on my hand then she flew off. I did not touch her wings. We begin going out daily and checking. On 11/19/21 I spotted 3 chrysalis.
The following day 2 had emerged and were gone. The last one climbed on my hand and flew off South.
We were just in aww and next year we are planting more milkweed for them and will try and protect them as much as possible.
