There were about 12-15 butterflies spotted. They were coming into the garden 2-3 at a time. Some flew overhead and did not stop. At least 2 were old females with faded and injured wings. Most were males with vibrant colors in their wings. One male landed on a rose bush and stayed for an hour without moving. Most were feeding on nectar plants such as Mexican Bush Sage, Lantanas and Milkweed. One female began laying eggs soon after she ate.
